Usability Gripe of the Day: Email Message Forwarding
My usability gripe of the day - message forwarding. There are two types of forwarding - inline forwarding, and attachment forwarding. Inline forwarding of the Outlook type, that encourages top-posting, that most reviled of posting styles, is great for most messages I send on a daily basis so it is my default in Outlook and Gmail. But why the tools don't offer a way to convert between one or the other? I want a simple "right-click -> Forward as Attachment" option for when the default just isn't good enough, and a smart default for every other time. My only solution in Outlook is to reply to a message, delete all the text, and then drag the original source message into the new message as an attachment. 20 minutes of programming would save me this hassle - which I spend far more time bitching about than probably doing.
