Ubuntu, Gwibber and a mobile user
For a long-term supported (LTS) release, Ubuntu 10.4 has chosen a distinctly unpolished tool in Gwibber to be their front-end to broadcast messaging. The damn thing doesn't survive hibernation - a serious issue to a mobile user like myself.
I start working, and when I go mobile, I chose hibernate over shutdown. They also don't have laptop-optimized kernels either. Ubuntu desktop is a workstation desktop - disable high-res timers and save my battery life.
I like where the project is going, but really, they need to do better for their pinnacle releases. Bleeding edge doesn't belong in an LTS release.
