Offshore support - Moving from Remote Desktop to Citrix Servers
A client was being crushed under a problem - their offshore development team was utilizing a mass of cast-off last-generation hardware scattered in unused offices and consuming valuable datacente rackspace. Aside from cooling and power provisioning issues, the situation was unsustainable. Admins were routinely called into the office at 3AM to power on workstations when power failures occured or the user failed to choose Reboot instead of Shutdown. This is the story of the replacement of these systems with Citrix.
